(More customer reviews)At first glance there's a lot to like about this bag and its storage options, especially the bottom compartment which is ideal for shoes. I got it in part for its distinctive appearance which makes it easy to spot on a baggage carousel.The fatal flaw however is the top handle design. It is only stitched onto the bag nylon and a small flap less than 1cm long is sewn into a seam.

I originally owned the 29" version of this bag, and due to its cavernous proportions, it was easy to overstuff it often reaching the 70 lb. limit on airlines.After only one trip with about 60 lb. in the bag, the stitching on the handle started to separate from the bag.On the next trip with less weight in it the handle was ripped completely off the bag.Fortunately Samsonite replaced the bag and I opted to replace with the 26" version and promised to myself to limit the weight.

Well, with less than 40 lb. in it the airline gorillas ripped one of the handles completely off and one side of the other.It so badly damaged, I could clearly see what a weak design it is. I will attempt to replace this bag with one of Samsonite's newer wheeled duffels whose nylon handles wrap completely around the bag and have rivets at the point where the handle separates from the bag. It appears Samsonite learned from this bad design as well.

In summary, if this bag will never go on an airplane, it's very good. Otherwise load it lightly or go with the 22" version.
