The size is "just right"and holds everything I need, including a change of clothes and toiletries.The water bottle sleeve is plenty big, and secured by a string tether.If you don't need the CD pocket, you can store your wallet and cell phone there, and your IPod or MP3 player in the internal mesh pocket. The outside mesh pocket will hold a rolled-up magazine, snacks, keys or incidentals. I'm happy with my purchase, and recommend this bag.
