(More customer reviews)I spent three weeks in Europe last fall and I lived out of this bag and a medium sized backpack which held all my tech gear. The drop bottom is a great feature because you don't have to go digging on the bottom which disrupts the entire contents of the bag, and it's got two tie-downs.I kept two pairs of pants, several shirts, a bulky fall sweater and more and had plenty of room to cram souveniers and books in it as I went along.The top opens wide with two more tie-downs, all the room I needed for more shirts, underwear and the bulky items needed for fall travel.Umbrella fit in the side pocket and there was still plenty of room for lots of other items.But...no wheels.This is my preference since I'd rather have the packing room, but it's something to consider. I think it stows easier in the overhead on the plane and on European trains.I preferred to use the end handles which were nicely padded and helped me to stand it on end in crowded subways or trams. I checked it on the way home instead of carrying it on as it was much heavier than when I started and it showed up on the carrousel looking brand new.I love this bag.If I packed lighter I wouldn't need the backpack.I expect it to serve me well for many years to come.
