(More customer reviews)I spent three weeks in Europe last fall and I lived out of this bag and a medium sized backpack which held all my tech gear. The drop bottom is a great feature because you don't have to go digging on the bottom which disrupts the entire contents of the bag, and it's got two tie-downs.I kept two pairs of pants, several shirts, a bulky fall sweater and more and had plenty of room to cram souveniers and books in it as I went along.The top opens wide with two more tie-downs, all the room I needed for more shirts, underwear and the bulky items needed for fall travel.Umbrella fit in the side pocket and there was still plenty of room for lots of other items.But...no wheels.This is my preference since I'd rather have the packing room, but it's something to consider. I think it stows easier in the overhead on the plane and on European trains.I preferred to use the end handles which were nicely padded and helped me to stand it on end in crowded subways or trams. I checked it on the way home instead of carrying it on as it was much heavier than when I started and it showed up on the carrousel looking brand new.I love this bag.If I packed lighter I wouldn't need the backpack.I expect it to serve me well for many years to come.

(More customer reviews)I just returned from two weeks in Italy and this was my only bag.I packed 4 pair of jeans, 2 dresses, 2 dress slacks, 5 sleeveless tops, 5 short sleeve tops, 5 long sleeve tops, 3 pair of shoes, socks, undies & personal toiletries including a curling iron in this bag (I did use the expanded space) and still had room to pack 3 bottles of wine in the bag for the return trip.This is an amazingly versatile and spacious bag.Everyone in our party was dragging around a couple of large suitcases while I was able to zip my little bag around with ease.It is well made and appears to have survived the baggage handling with no problems.I travel extensively and this is clearly the best bag I have used.I love it.

(More customer reviews)I thought this bag was well made but I returned it because there were two flaws.1) It was not deep enough for my packing needs, 2) it would not stand up on its wheels (this is a problem with a rolling duffel bag). It was very light weight and had a nice rolling mechanism but the issues were problematic for me so back it went.
