DAKINE Men's High Roller Board Bag Review

DAKINE Men's High Roller Board Bag

This bag is everything I will ever need, for ANY snowboard trip. CRAZY amounts of room. I took my powder and regular board, pair of boots, four jackets, layers, socks, clothes for the bar, and a pair of around town boots. It fit everything and help up fairly well!

Only thing I would recommend for future production, is turn the plastic casing that supports the soft shell case towards the bottom wheels into aluminum. Then, this bag would last FOREVER! Without this, it will only last a lifetime!

About Dakine
Dakine, currently based in Hood River, Oregon, was founded in Maui, Hawaii, in 1975 by longtime surfer Rob Kaplan. Dakine's first product, a revolutionary new type of surf leash, quickly gained worldwide popularity, which led Kaplan to produce more surfing-related products built to withstand the punishing conditions of the surf on the north shore of Hawaii. In Hawaiian slang, "da kine" means the best, and the company has lived up to this standard through attention to detail, a focus on accessories, and a notoriously thorough design process.
With its reputation for top-quality products and process, Dakine quickly grew beyond its surfing roots and has become the standard in board sports accessories for top athletes in the worlds of snowboarding, skiing, skateboarding, mountain biking, windsurfing, and kiteboarding, as well as surfing. Dakine moved to Hood River in 1986 to better serve the growing worldwide demand for Dakine products. The facility, which included a new factory and distribution center, soon replaced operations on Maui's north shore. The Oregon location is at the heart of the Columbia Gorge and the base of Mt. Hood, and is a hot spot with both windsurfers and snowboarders. This helps the company maintain its competitive edge by giving the product development team a demanding new environment for developing and testing products. A testament to the standards and success of Dakine's products, the company's pro team roster reads like a who's-who of action sports.

High Sierra Wheeled Double Snowboard Bag Review

With airlines charging higher fees for additional checked bags, this one bag serves double-duty for your skis & poles, as well as clothes and helmet. At 180cm in length, it's plenty long for my skis, and plenty thick and wide to stuff all the clothes I need for a week-long ski trip.I carry my boots in my carry-on, but if you have shorter skis and smaller feet you may be able to pack your boots in there too.I've made 2 ski trips so far (that's 4 airline counter check-in's) and there's never been a problem. It's already paid for itself since I only get charged for one checked bag.It seems to be very sturdy, and the wheels make it easy to roll through the terminals.

High Sierra Wheeled Double Adjustable Snowboard/Ski Combo Bag Review

High Sierra Wheeled Double Adjustable Snowboard/Ski Combo Bag

I purchased this with the intention of using it for air travel. My husband snowboards and I ski, so we were looking for something that could carry both. This bag is sturdily built, however, the baggage people are not kind and it is already very dirty and is showing a bit of wear after two round trip flights which I believe is no fault of the bag, but the handling of the airlines. We are able to fit my skis and boots along with his snowboard and boots. The zippers tend to catch a bit when extending the length of the bag or going around the corners, but the zippers are heavy duty. The wheels are handy, but you do have to be careful when you are wheeling it around the airport because it is quite long.

This has been the perfect bag for us.I would purchase this item again. It has made our life traveling with ski/snow board equipment much easier then imagined when we planned our trip to Tahoe and Colorado.

Product Description:
With a fully padded main compartment that holds two snowboards or a snowboard and two pairs of skis, the High Sierra wheeled double snowboard/ski combo bag is a terrific choice for snow-focused travel. The bag features an exclusive two-stage adjustment system that lets you size the bag--from 150 to 205 cm--according to the size of your gear. As a result, you needn't travel with a bag that's larger than your skis, saving space and helping protect the items inside. Further protection stems from the bag's fully padded main compartment, which includes padded divider panels to hold and secure your boards. Plus, the bag includes snowboard, ski, and ski pole hold-down straps, which are clearly marked with tabs to help keep your gear organized and stop it from shifting in the bag.
The bag is also easier to transport than many other snowboard bags thanks to the inline skate-style wheels. The system includes a rigid structure around the wheels and plastic-molded rub rails to protect the bottom of the bag from abrasion. Other features include long webbing handles that can be used as a shoulder strap, an extra-large neoprene-padded handle wrap for comfort, an ergonomic Sure-Grip molded tow handle, and a zippered front accessory pocket for smaller items. The combo bag measures 81 by 13 by 6.5 inches (W x H x D) and carries a five-year warranty.
